Jana Sperschneider
I am a PhD candidate at the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering at The University of Western Australia. I am part of the Bioinformatics Research Group.
In 2007, I received my Diplom degree in Computer Science with a focus on Bioinformatics from the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, Germany.
My research interests are computational methods for RNA structure prediction, primarily the detection of pseudoknots in long sequences. In particular I am interested in RNA pseudoknot thermodynamics and the versatility of pseudoknots in regulatory processes and viruses.
